About
Xelar is an electronic music project from Asturias, active since 2010. Its early releases Un (2010) and Mayu (2011) explored ambient music, minimalism, drone and field recordings, with a particular interest in landscape, repetition and atmosphere.
During 2015 and 2016, Xelar developed new work through music residencies at LABoral Centro de Arte, alongside live performances and projects including Monkey Days, TESLA and a live score for The Adventures of Prince Achmed. This period led to the release of L'iviernu (2016).
After several years of more sporadic activity, including live performances and DJ sessions on NC248 Radio, Xelar resumed the project fully in 2026 with the EP Xineru and a new hardware live set. The current sound expands the project's ambient foundations through kosmische textures, motorik sequences and analogue acid.
